Hello — I'm

Patrick Jenkins.

Solutions Architect · Data Center Buildouts · Founder & Builder

Infrastructure and security engineer with 17 years operating large-scale enterprise infrastructure — AI data center operations, enterprise PKI, and cloud-native environments. NVIDIA-certified (NCA-AIIO) and focused on AI data center and infrastructure roles.

01 — About

Operator. Builder. Translator.

I've spent 17 years as a customer-facing infrastructure and security implementer — starting at Oracle on the datacenter floor (Dulles federal/civilian cloud hosting), then PCI data protection at Fiserv, firm-wide device identity at McKinsey, a 600K-cert hybrid estate at Elevance Health, and most recently advising a regional bank on Venafi architecture and certificate governance through CDW. Regulated environments, audit-driven shops, FedRAMP and PCI footprints — that's the world I came up in.

PKI and certificate management is the backbone of everything I do — machine identity, cryptographic trust, and the lifecycle automation that keeps large estates from falling over. The next chapter builds on the other half of my history: data center operations and hardware bring-up. I'm NVIDIA-certified in AI Infrastructure & Operations (NCA-AIIO) and focused on AI data center buildouts — the racks, fabrics, and identity plumbing that AI workloads run on. The common thread hasn't changed — translate deep technical work into something a customer, an executive, or a junior engineer can actually use.

What's changed is how I ship. I run a modern AI-augmented engineering stack — Claude as primary engineering and operations partner, Replit for iteration, self-hosted MCP servers on DigitalOcean for production tooling. I direct AI rather than write code from scratch, and that lets one operator do the work of a small team. This site, for what it's worth, was built that way.

02 — Ventures

What I'm building.

Three independent ventures running in parallel — each one a real operating surface, not a side project.

03 — Experience

The arc.

Highlights — not the full résumé. Download the PDF for the complete picture.

  1. FixMyCert — Founder & Operator

    Dec 2025 – Present

Independent PKI infrastructure and education platform, built and operated solo — no team, no budget. 200+ pieces of practical PKI content (130+ guides, 50+ interactive demos) shipped through an AI-augmented build-and-publish workflow on self-hosted MCP services (DigitalOcean, Docker), with compliance intelligence aligned to CA/Browser Forum, NIST, and PCI DSS.

  2. CDW Corporation — Venafi Engineer, Regional Banking Client

    Aug 2025 – Jun 2026

Advised a regional bank on Venafi TPP architecture, certificate discovery topology, and placement-rule governance. Traced orphaned-certificate sprawl to a governance failure across 70+ uncoordinated scan scopes, designed an NMAP-first discovery methodology projected to cut scan runtime ~80%, and defined BIG-IQ–driven certificate automation architecture with CyberArk Machine Identity.

  3. Lucid Services Group — PKI Engineer (Elevance Health)

    Aug 2024 – Jul 2025

PKI operations at Fortune 25 healthcare scale — a 600K-certificate hybrid estate spanning Linux, AWS, F5, and DataPower. Diagnosed provisioning failures during change windows, standardized certificate-request intake across engineering teams, and maintained trust-chain stability through the Entrust-to-Sectigo CA migration.

  4. McKinsey & Company — Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Device Identity

    Jun 2021 – Feb 2024

Owned Venafi TPP reliability across global device-identity infrastructure — upgrades, performance tuning, and security hardening — and integrated Kubernetes with Venafi for governed workload identity. Primary resolution point for ~80% of firm-wide PKI incidents, with privileged credential governance built on BeyondTrust-backed rotation automation.

  5. Fiserv — Senior Security Engineer, Data Protection

    Apr 2019 – Jun 2021

Compiled PCI compliance evidence across certificate inventory and infrastructure dependencies, introduced certificate-specific fields and CI relationship mappings to the ServiceNow CMDB, and served as escalation authority for enterprise Windows certificate and TLS incidents in production.

  6. Oracle — Senior Network Analyst

    Jun 2015 – Mar 2019

Supported F5 vulnerability management and RedSeal/FedRAMP STIG efforts, and led the enterprise-wide SSL SHA-1→SHA-2 migration across a 100+ F5 BIG-IP fleet supporting OPC business lines — full lifecycle ownership of SSL/TLS certificate management and network-security documentation.

  7. Oracle — Systems Administration

    Earlier career

Senior Systems Administrator for federal and civilian cloud hosting (Ashburn, VA) and Systems Administrator for SaaS platform operations — datacenter buildouts from empty rooms to full production: hardware bring-up, rack-and-stack, structured cabling, and bare-metal deployments.
